About the Division
The Information Technology Services (ITS) office supports both academic and administrative areas with a wide range of hardware and software resources and technical personnel. The College is continually upgrading its technology infrastructure and campus servers.
Panola College has a high-speed fiber optic network connecting all major campus buildings, including the residence halls. The College’s main administrative information system is Jenzabar One (J1) software. Students can access a number of web-based services through myPanola, including online registration, grades, transcripts, and class schedules. Students have access to over 900 Internet-connected computers in various labs around campus. Wi-Fi is available in all college buildings, campus apartments, and many outside areas of the campus.
Panola College participated in The Center for Digital Education (CDE) Survey. The CDE, in conjunction with the American Association of Community Colleges, conducted the Digital Community Colleges Survey, which examined and documented how community colleges have progressed in using information technology to deliver services to their students, faculty, and staff. Presidents at nearly 1,000 community colleges across the United States are invited to participate in the survey. Panola College has placed in the TOP TEN small college category in 11 of the 12 times the survey has been conducted. In the 2017-2018 survey, the College placed seventh in the nation.
Student Resources
Panola College students all receive an email account upon admission to the College. All correspondence after admission will be through this email. It is the student’s responsibility to activate and monitor their campus email. This account is a Google mail account and allows each student Google drive space for school use plus access to Google Docs, Sheets, Calendar and Slides.
Helpdesk Support
Currently, ITS has launched a new helpdesk platform to assist students, faculty and staff more efficiently. To submit a helpdesk ticket for assistance, email: helpdesk@panola.edu.
ITS Policies
In addition to a new helpdesk, the ITS department has adopted a number of policies which must be adhered to by the college population. Also, per the state of Texas public college/university requirement, all employees/contractors of the College must participate and pass Cybersecurity Training & Assessment & Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training annually, as well as signing a Prohibited Technologies Policy that restricts access to certain mobile/web applications and companies (i.e., TikTok, RedNote). A copy can be found below along with other college policies. The ITS director administers the cybersecurity & AI trainings. All inquiries regarding this annual mandate can be directed to him/her.
