Suggested Degree Plan
The Music area of emphasis is designed to provide students with the first two years of higher education with the intent of transferring to a 4-year institution pursuing a major in Music. Following the advising guide ensures Music Field of Study completion. Completion of the core curriculum will require additional hours. PSYC/EDUC 1100 is required in the core curriculum but not in the Associate of Science in Music, it is listed in the first semester as recommended. The degree is 60 hours only.

Applied Study — Concentration must be a two-credit lesson and may be in any Brass, Woodwind, String or Percussion instrument, Piano, Guitar, or Voice.
MUSI 1181, MUSI 1182, MUSI 2181, MUSI 2182 — Secondary must be piano if it was not chosen as an emphasis. Music majors must take a piano placement test.
