The Accommodations & Disability Support (A&DS) Office at Panola College provides and facilitates support services and accommodations for students with disabilities. The A&DS office works under the federal guidelines included in Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act. Panola College is committed to providing a barrier-free educational environment to the extent possible. To this end, every effort is made to ensure that programs and facilities are accessible to students with disabilities. Support Services are available to students to provide them with an equal opportunity to benefit from the educational offerings of the institution and to participate in the life of the university.
A disability, as defined by federal guidelines, is a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more life activities such as walking, hearing, or seeing. A student must self-identify, complete an application for disability accommodations, and provide recent documentation of his or her disability to the A&DS office.
Accommodations & Disability Support will facilitate accommodation for students with documented disabilities. New students are encouraged to read the Handbook for Students with Accommodations and Disabilities to contact the A&DS office following admission to ensure needed accommodations are available at time of enrollment.
