The Transition ADN (LVN to RN & Paramedic to RN) program is a “closed” program and requires additional application and acceptance into the program. Admission to Panola College does not guarantee admission to specific nursing courses or the nursing program.
The Transition ADN (LVN to RN & Paramedic to RN) program allows LVNs and paramedics to earn an Associate of Applied Science, Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with the option of online didactic classes (summer start) or face to face didactic classes (spring start) and face-to-face simulation, lab, and clinical experiences. This program is taught over 12 months. It is offered with clinicals provided within a 70-mile radius of Carthage, Texas. Clinicals throughout the program may be scheduled on day, evening, or nights or so students can receive the most beneficial clinical experience and meet program learning outcomes. All clinicals are scheduled by the instructors. Students are required to be on campus for simulation and lab. This required attendance is included in the required clinical times. Applicants must have these times available until the schedule is finalized.
Because of the high demand for the Transition program track, the admission criteria differ from those for the traditional ADN student.
