Career & Technical Advising

Students enrolled in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs follow a structured advising process within their program of study. Once a student is formally admitted into a CTE program, they are assigned a faculty advisor rather than an academic advisor.

Faculty advisors provide guidance related to program requirements, course sequencing, clinical or technical training expectations, and career preparation. Students enrolled in these programs are required to meet with their faculty advisor each semester prior to registration to review their progress and receive approval for course enrollment.

CTE programs that require faculty advising include:

Vocational Nursing (VN)
Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)
Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)
Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
Health Information Technology (HIT)
Medical Assisting (MA)
Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)
Cosmetology
