Advising at Panola College

Panola College provides two advising pathways depending on a student’s program of study. Most students are advised by academic advisors in the Student Services office, while students admitted to certain Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are advised by faculty within their program.

Academic Advisor

An Academic Advisor is a Student Services professional who assists students in interpreting test scores, selecting a major, developing degree plans, choosing courses, and completing the registration process. Advisors also connect students with campus resources, support transfer planning to a four-year institution, and guide students through the graduation application process during their final semester.

Faculty Advisor

A Faculty Advisor is an instructor within a specific Career and Technical Education (CTE) program who provides guidance on program requirements, course sequencing, clinical or technical training expectations, and career preparation.

Advising Assistance

Students who are unsure which advising pathway applies to them should contact the Student Services Office for assistance with connecting to the appropriate advisor.
